"Everything is possible under the sun"

You can find this sentence everywhere in my guides! Many Zanzibari are used to say it. As a sun lover, it reminds me that in life, everything is in fact possible, if we want it to be 🙂

About me

Hi! I am Balkiss, and Zanzibar has been part of my life for 5 years now 🙂
Globetrotter, Engineer, Sunset lover, Travel consultant, Frenchie girl: all these words can describe me and are part of my story.

Born and raised in Paris, France, I always wanted to live in a place where the sun shines every day and where I feel free. After traveling to many countries (most of the time for work), I first arrived in Zanzibar for an internship, and later on for a job. Getting the opportunity to discover this island as a local and not as a tourist, made me fall in love with it.

I love Zanzibar for its endless beaches, the tasty and flavored food, the sun shining every day, but above all, for its people. Zanzibarian (and Tanzanians as well) are really kind, smiling, and will always greet you with their favorite “Jambo” or “Hakuna Matata”. As I said, everything is possible under the sun, and so on in Zanzibar.

At 22, first time alone in Zanzibar

At 22, I traveled alone for the first time in Zanzibar, without knowing it would change my life.

At 24, I started my own tour operator company, and I made dreams come true for more than 150 clients.

At 26, I got my apartment in Stone Town, your home far from home, where I am currently hosting people who want to discover the authentic Stone Town.

And now, I am starting what I love the most: helping people. I have seen so many times in Zanzibar, that people get wrong information or just missing information about the island. It is so hard to find reliable, unbiased, and up-to-date information to spend unforgettable holidays. And no one wants to be on this amazing island without exploring all the must-see, isn’t it?

I want to help YOU, to enjoy and spend the most incredible holidays of your life.

With B Zanzibar, you not only access information about Zanzibar, but I give my love for this island with all it’s hidden gems on to you.
